Carmen Electra

Carmen Electra, born April 20, 1972 in Cincinnati, Ohio as Tara Leigh Patrick, is an American actress, dancer, entertainer and socialite. She’s best known for her appearances in Playboy magazine, and television series Baywatch. Her career started at the age of 18, when she became a dancer at a Kings Island park. To further her career she moved to Los Angeles and started auditioning for an all-girl hip-hop group. When she met Prince, he convinced her to change her name to Carmen Electra and pursue her career as a solo artist instead. Her singing career however did not take off. After her appearance in Playboy for the first time, her career swiftly took off, making her an instant celebrity, a position that allowed her to land a role in such a blockbuster as Baywatch alongside Pamela Anderson. Her popularity prompted her return appearances in Playboy, including several covers. When she started to further her acting career, she scored appearances in multiple movies, such as “Scary Movie”, working together with Anna Faris and Shannon Elizabeth, “Date Movie”, “Epic Movie”, “Meet the Spartans” and many others. Carmen won an MTV Award for best kiss in “Starsky & Hutch”. She has been romantically involved with a rap star B-Real of Cypress Hill and Tommy Lee, a drummer of Motley Crue. She was later briefly married to Dave Navarro, famous guitarist of Red Hot Chili Peppers, but divorced him less than 4 years later.

The Electrifing World of Carmen Electra

Carmen Electra was born as Tara Leigh Patrick born on April 20, 1972 in Sharonville, Ohio, USA, a suburb of Cincinnati, to Patricia, a vocalist, and Harry Patrick, an entertainer and guitarist. The actress attended Princeton High School in Sharonville.

Carmen before entering the acting world tried her luck in singing and came out with her first album for Prince's Paisley Park label. The album came out to be a dud and failed miserably. Incidentally, it was Prince who gave Carmen her present name changing it from Tara.

Not a one to lose hope, Carmen Electra soon tried her hands at acting by making several appearances in television programs. But it was her nude pictorial with Playboy in 1996 that instantly shot her to fame landing her a role in the lifeguard TV series, Baywatch (cast member from 1997-1998) and MTV's Singled Out ( where she replaced Jenny McCarthy as the co-host). She returned to Baywatch for the 2003 reunion movie, Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding.

Her long list of movies include Good Burger (1997), The Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human (1999), the horror spoof Scary Movie (2000) and also appeared in Scary Movie 4 (2006), Epic Movie(2007), "Date Movie" (2007), the remake of the 1970s TV show Starsky & Hutch (2004) and Cheaper by the Dozen 2. In fact she even won an MTV Movie Award (best kiss) for Starsky & Hutch. The critics, however, so far have remained aloof to her work done by panning it.

And this is not all, Carmen Electra spiced up her image more by some television and music video appearances like in Bloodhound Gang's music video of "The Inevitable Return of the Great White Dope" (1999), The Osbournes, The Anna Nicole Show, and, most notably, Newlyweds, Elektra and husband-to-be Dave Navarro agreed to let an MTV camera crew record their lives for the reality show Till Death Do Us Part.

Carmen Electra is also responsible for starting the Naked Women's Wrestling League in 2005 acting as a commissioner for the professional wrestling promotion. Her association with Playboy magazine grew more strong with some more appearances by Carmen over the years and no she is going to pose nude again for the magazine's 55th anniversary January 2008 issue.

The lady is also associated with brands like taco bell and Ritz Camera Centers. Her future project revolves her being confirmed as a contestant on NBC's Celebrity version of The Apprentice.
